Aerotec conmemorated three decades of teaching pilots how to fly
The ceremony took place on the morning of June 30th in Cuatro Vientos airport
Aerotec, Spain’s oldest pilot school, celebrated on the 30th of June its more than 30 years in the service of pilot instruction.
Founded in Madrid on the year 1993, Aerotec has taught more than 6.000 airline pilots, flown more than 300.000 flight hours, given more than 80.000 hours of simulator instruction, and almost reached 200.000 hours of theoretical classes.
Reaching those goals hasn’t always been easy, for during these three decades we have had to face many historical challenges such as the 11-s terror attacks, the covid pandemic, and the Filomena blizzard, in addition to an ever-changing legislative and technological landscape.
In order to face all those changes, we expanded through the Spanish geography, opening another base in Seville in the year 1994, and creating our own aircraft maintenance center in 1997. signing an agreement in the year 2001 with Swift Air, Spain’s biggest cargo airline, and of course, keeping up to date with the new technological advances by acquiring Entrol A32 simulator in 2017, going paperless with the help of Boeing Jeppesen, buying the new Tecnam P2006T twin-engine aircraft on the year 2019, and becoming the first pilot school to adopt the brand new Tecnam P-Mentor aircraft into our fleet this very year 2023.
The results of this constant innovation and long-term thinking have been reflected in the professional career of our students after their studies at Aerotec. We have a rate of 98% of our students passing the civil aviation exams, and almost 100% of our students with ATPL pilot licenses are currently working at an airline. Our former students now fly all around the world in companies like Iberia, Qantas, Emirates, Lufthansa, Air Europa, Swift Air, and LAN Chile, just to name a few.
Because no matter how modern our aircraft are, our teaching philosophy, focused on the job market and the flight practice, is still the same as it was 30 years ago and is one of our best assets along with our team of teachers, flight instructors, and other professionals of our sector.
We hope to reach yet another 30 years together doing what we do best: teaching pilots with the best quality standards of academic and flight excellence.
