Castor Fantoba gives a lecture at Aerotec
He is considered the best Spanish acrobatic pilot on history
Castor Fantoba, Boeing 737 commander, and member of the Spanish acrobatic flight team, has won 11 times the Spain’s championship in the classic category, and 6 times in the freestyle one. On top of that, he has been the world acrobatic flight sub champion in the team category (the year 2022), and in the freestyle category the year 2021. Not to mention that he was the teacher of Aerotec’s current UPRT flight instructors.
That’s why he is considered to be the greatest Spanish acrobatic pilot and the reason why he was invited to give a lecture in Aerotec’s Cuatro Vientos Base on the 23rd of May.
The student turnout was so high, that we had to organize two turns of lectures in order to accommodate the audience. During the lecture, Fantoba talked about his specialty, that is, Upset Prevention & Recovery Training (UPRT for shorts), and about the safety measures and mind space that a pilot has to adopt when facing an anomalous flight situation.
Here at Aerotec, we have always vied in favor of UPRT training and an “old school” approach to aeronautic learning, where real flight experience and dexterity trump simulators.
That’s why we loved every minute of Fantoba’s lecture, and we hope that our students did it as well. We will be honored to host such a guest in the future, but one can only hope.
