Courses Flight Instructor

This is a course for those pilots who are interested in working as flight instructors. By the end of the course, the student will obtain an official FI license, which will allow him or her to work as independent examiners or flight instructors at an Aeronautical Training Organization.

The different types of flight instructor courses are as it follows:

  • Visual flight instructor. In order to undertake this course, you will need to be the owner of a commercial pilot License (CPL) and have at least 100 hours as a pilot in command, plus 30 hours on a single-engine aircraft, 5 of which have had to be undertook at least 6 months prior to this FI course. This course lasts for 3 months and contains 125 theoretical hours, 20 basic SE flight hours, and 6 and a half hours on a SE advanced aircraft.

 

  • Multi-Engine flight instructor. In order to undertake this course, you will need to be the owner of a commercial pilot License (CPL) and a visual flight instructor license (FI), and have at least 500 flight hours,from which 30 must be as a pilot in command on a ME aircraft, 10 of them undertook on the last 12 months. This course lasts for 3 months and contains 25 theoretical hours and 7 advanced ME flight hours (Seneca Full IFR).

 

  • Instrumental flight instructor (IFR). In order to undertake this course, you will need to be the owner of a commercial pilot License (CPL) and a visual flight instructor license (FI), pass an access exam at AEROTEC (including a flight test) and have at least 200 instrumental flight hours, from which 50 could be made on a certified FNPT-II simulator. The course has a lenght of 4 months, and it contains 125 theoretical hours and 12 flight hours at an advancced ME Piper Arrow and Turbo Arrow (Full IFR).
